Cactus Phone Backgrounds

Happy Thursday! You have almost made it through this week and what better way to celebrate than with a new phone background!

I have a weird new love for cactus' lately! I don't know what it is about them, but for some reason I made a whole series of backgrounds with them and I ordered some cactus charms yesterday to make some new jewelry!

And, today I added "take a picture of a cactus" and "take a ring shot on a cactus" to my photography bucket list! I also added "do an engagement or anniversary session in the desert," but that is a story for another time and possibly on another blog-- like my b.davis photography blog!

To make this your phone background, just click on the image to bring up a high-res photo and save to camera roll and apply like normal!

There is even on for the sassy-a-frass friend down there!

And, for the sassy pants out there...

Weekend in Nebraska

So, last weekend homeboy (aka my husband) and I packed up his bible (and iPad for the modern preacher man) and my camera equipment and traveled to Nebraska to attend one of Drew's high school best friends wedding. I have only got to meet Jared a couple of times and only met Becca once, but we were both so excited when they asked us to be a part of their big day!

Drew and I actually got engaged about 6 weeks after Jared and Becca, but we got married about 7 weeks earlier, so it was fun to attend our first wedding as a married couple (and a the officiant and the photographer!)

Jared's now wife, Becca, is from Henderson, Nebraska area and that is where the wedding was held.

On Friday, husband and I left for Nebraska and we might have been running a little late (shocker for us) and someone (husband) still needed to run to Walmart to get a shirt for the rehersal dinner. So needless to say, Friday was a little rushed on the trip to Nebraska. I won't even mention how we had to stop in Wichita to find Drew pants for the ceremony... I will leave that for another day!

We did stop in Wichita to eat lunch and had buffet pizza, so I am not even going to lie that was pretty wonderful. (#ilovepizza even though I shouldn't love pizza!)

Anyways, wedding rehersal went great. Had a nice dinner in Sutton, Nebraska, and we got to meet some super fun people! And, then we headed back to York to check into our hotel, where I am not even going to lie... I still had to finish Becca and Jared's wedding gift! You know when they say "Like mother like daughter".... well, yep this is totally something my mom would do. But, hey it was finished and I was happy with the outcome!

So, fast forward to Saturday morning... it was an early morning! We had to be at the church at 7:30 a.m. Yes, you read that right... a.m. We were running a bit late, because I HAD to have coffee before starting any wedding day. It is my photography ritual. No lie. Every wedding.

Anyways, we ended up running to this little cafe in Henderson to get breakfast. And, if you are ever in Henderson you totally need to eat a Perks. Oh my gosh it was wonderful. Anyways, I digress. Wedding day got started and everything was coming together perfectly!

The ceremony went off without a hitch. And, I certainly don't brag on my husband enough, but he did such a wonderful job on their ceremony. I always love those officiants that can tie in personal stories from the bride or groom, and Drew did that so perfectly! I am just so proud of that guy I married!

We had a wonderful day celebrating with the newly Noble's and not to mention their was pie at the reception. Winning.

We left the wedding after

Here are a few pictures from our weekend in Nebraska.

And, here are a couple of final edits from the big day!

#frillyfarmwedding | part two

I haven't blogged much about the #frillyfarmwedding yet... but, that is about to change! Eeeek!

This week I am going to go through the photos and pull out the ones that are the most special to us... but for now, I have to share this photo from our rehersal dinner.

It was hot. Like Oklahoma in June at 5 p.m. hot. We had been outside all day setting up for the big day. It was one of those "so much to do, not enough time to do it in" type things. We had enough time to finish the little decorating around the house, put out chairs, sit the hay out for seating and run to Chickasha to get our marriage license before the guest starting arriving for the rehersal dinner.

Thankfully we had plenty of help to get all of those things done! We couldn't have done it without my grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, friend's husbands, friend's wives, etc.

I am not going to go into much detail just yet about all of the things my parents did just yet, but just wait until you hear that list-- it is amazing! Love those two!

Here are just a few photos from our super fun and funny rehersal dinner!
